Thanks for coming in and getting weighed (or keeping your weight to yourself) and recording your deadlifts. I know Jim picked up a few Harjs and I picked up about a Harj and three-quarters! PR's for both of us! We're hoping you start throwing up some bigger numbers as you improve your nutrition. Tomorrow there will be a SUPER FUN MetCon Run/Row number for your barfing pleasures, followed by Fran on Wednesday. Good times ahead!
Let us know how Paleo is going for you, what you need, what's causing you problems(nutrition only please, we're not psychiatrists), etc. Christina and I have completed a whole week of Paleo and have lived to tell about it. Ask us and we'll tell you about it. :)

Can you post today's workout? I'm going to have to make up today's and fran later in the week due to work getting in the way of my workouts.
ReplyDeleteWOD #1 was 1RM Deadlift. WOD #2 is a 400m run followed by a 500m row, no rest, 5 rounds. WOD #3 is FRAN!
ReplyDeleteSince no one else is commenting, I'll just talk to myself. I am 1.5 weeks in and my workouts are shitty. The Paleo Diet book says this may happen and it did. Don't get discouraged if it happens to you. I'm having a hard time eating enough protein and enough veggies. I hate veggies! I love wine and I had opened a bottle on Saturday, I don't want it to go bad so I am drinking a glass a day until it's gone. I'm realistic when it comes to eating (and drinking), so don't deny yourself something if it's going to upset you. Start with a Paleo meal or two and work your way into it. You can do it!!!!!!!!! :) Two down!
ReplyDeleteI had about 25grams of Whey protien in my A.M. shake today. a little sugar in the teriyaki chicken. Other that that I have been true. my anxiety and trepidations were on going without breads. So far I am full/satisfied. Have not had a desire for the "unwanted" Carbs. While doing todays SUPER FUN WoD all I keep thinking was all that bad crap burning off, since there has only been clean stuff in for the last 2 days.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on your deadlifts Jim!!! I love your comment about the "bad crap burning off." Well said!!! After doing the run/row last night there should have been some fat burning off!!! Wow, that was tough!! I went in after dinner when it cooled down a bit ( 7:30), and that probably helped a little. If you're missing that bread texture, try one of the muffin or cookie recipes on www.paleofood.com. I have tried them both and they satisfy that craving.
ReplyDeleteHarj, I had the worst run of my life this morning!! Maybe because the tank was empty after run/row last night. Well, I'm having no problem eating. I love veges and protein, but I'm always running to the store! I'm trying to rely on "real" food, and only use a Lara bar in emergencies.
How's everyone's sleep? I was up at 5:30 this a.m. not fair!
As an encouragement, I listened to the CrossFit radio episode 80-090812. Great episode from a CrossFit Doc. on quality of sleep and the Paleo Challenge. There are a lot of CrossFit affilites doing a paleo challenge and having great results. A lot of people are commenting on melissabyersblog. and you can read on get help on FRAT30daypaleo challenge (google sorry no address).
